Harris’s Hawks in Action

Harris’s Hawks are the world’s only social bird of prey. They hunt in family groups, working to drive rabbits and rodents from beneath the prickly plants that dominate the Sonoran Desert of the southwest United States, pushing them into the open where their pack mates can catch them. They spend their days flying between cacti and fence poles searching for dinner, and keeping a watchful eye on each other. This behavior makes them optimal for both falconry and interactive educational programs, as they readily adopt people as their hunting partners. Come experience their charm and learn all about their unique natural history in the scenic natural beauty of San Diego’s last protected coastline at Torrey Pines. Perfect for birthday parties, corporate team-building events, and unique tourist experiences.
